The Dwarven Cities

On the State of the Dwarven Cities-(3000-45BH) -By: Archdeacon Danelus of Estag, Chronicler I

Dwarves (who had lived on the continent for thousands of years prior to even the elves) kept to their underground cities, amassing their fortunes from the fruits of the mountains. The relations between elves and dwarves were amicable, yet distant. Very little interaction occurred between them, as they kept to themselves. The Dwarven Cities were constantly plagued by petty squabbles between the ruling Clans, regarding tunneling and mining. Though immensely wealthy, the noble clans could not stop rampant poverty of the laboring classes, driving many to lives on the surface. These issues persist to this very day.
